Antikk skulptur. Katalog
This catalogue presents a total of 161 objects or fragments of objects from the collection of the National Museum, and features newly written texts, updated literature references and new photographs. Some sections of the text have been translated into English. Sven Ahrens, Senior Curator at the Norwegian Maritime Museum, and Siri Sande, Professor Emeritus at the University of Oslo, were responsible for and carried out a major portion of the scholarly editing of the catalogue.
The catalogue is divided into seven sections: Ideal sculptures based on classical and Greek models; Ideal sculptures from the period of the Roman emperors; Portraits; Greek votive and funerary reliefs; Sarcophagi and urns; Campana reliefs; and Architectural fragments. Each catalogue article includes a description and brief discussion in addition to technical information.
