Norway Says 10
The design group Norway Says, consisting of Torbjørn Andreassen, Andreas Engesvik and Espen Voll, was a breath of fresh air and marked an important turning point for Norwegian design at the turn of the millennium. The group drew attention at a number of exhibitions in Norway and around the world, and truly proved that good design sells no matter what country you're in or from.
Norway Says creates simple, new minimalist furniture and design products that appeal to both the emotional and the functional. They relate to an international design culture, but the manufacturers are mainly Norwegian or Scandinavian, and the products are the result of a revitalization of Scandinavian Design ideals from the 1990s.
For the group's 10-year anniversary, The National Museum arranged the traveling exhibition "Norway Says 10" that showcased their furniture, lamps, textiles, everyday objects and industrial design.
